What Is The Location Of Mobile

The location provides mobile real-time information on the geographical location of a mobile phone or other portable device like a smartphone, PDA, laptop or tablet PC, allowing the provision of Location Based Services (LBS). The location of phones employs two basic technologies, positioning technology to geo-locate the terminal, and network communication technology to transmit information to the LBS application that will process the request. What are Location Based ServicesLocation Based Services (LBS, Location Based Services) offer customized services based on geographical location of users. The geographic service-based applications in real time are very numerous, such as maps, routing, yellow pages with the nearest service alerts, advertising and games.Technologies used in the location of mobileAt the location of mobile or portable devices such as smartphones, PDAs, laptops or tablet PCs are used basically two technologies:

Positioning Technology: allows geo-locate the terminal, obtaining positioning coordinates and its location in a GIS.

Network communication technology: to convey the position of the LBS application that will process the request uses a telecommunications technology, GSM mobile phone generally.Positioning technologies to locate mobileRegarding positioning technologies for locating mobile, basically there are two:

GPS: is based on the constellation of GPS satellites (Global Positioning System, Global Positioning System), with widespread use. Your coverage covers almost the entire Earth, but may have areas of shade.

GSM: analyzes different parameters of the GSM cell signal of mobile phone masts coverage (cell information, time difference, time of arrival, signal strength or angle of arrival). This technology is only operational in GSM coverage areas, much more limited than GPS.These technologies are not mutually exclusive, indeed it is often the location of phones are used both simultaneously. Moreover, responsible for positioning applications can be of two types:

Client-side applications: in this case the application resides on the terminal, either because the user has installed (mobile locator) or because it comes pre-installed on the device by the manufacturer, often without knowledge of user. They can use both GPS and GSM.

Server-side applications: it's own mobile phone operator that identifies the phone's location using GSM infrastructure. This technique can be applied non-intrusively, without affecting the phones.LegalityAll applications for mobile location, both on client and server side, have legal problems because they affect the privacy of individuals and their communications, so that users, manufacturers and operators must only use them with the knowledge and express permission of the person concerned.
